Joe is an accomplished information technologist. Since 2012, he has been employed at Citizens Bank, where he has undertaken various roles, including managing data, automating processes, reporting metrics, acting as a liaison for system upgrades, and training users.
During a role transition in 2018, Joe learned about Job Club RI from multiple sources and decided to participate to help secure his new position. The invaluable support he received from Job Club inspired him to give back by volunteering there. This has given him the opportunity to assist other candidates by critiquing resumes, providing interview strategies, and offering additional support.
Reflecting on his experience, Joe recalls being laid off from another company in 2011 and not being aware of Job Club at the time. Finding a new full-time position in his field was extremely challenging and took many months before he ultimately secured his role at Citizens. This experience underscored the importance of Job Club’s mission. Joe has said, “I firmly believe in prosperity and providing every individual with the opportunity to reach their potential. When individuals who are eager to work can secure good, well-paying, fulfilling jobs, it benefits everyone. After benefiting from Job Club’s support, I felt a calling to help bridge the gap between employers and good candidates. A few years later, I consulted with a mentor to discuss my goals and was advised to join a board. Job Club was one of the organizations that came to mind, and I was honored to be selected to serve on their board, beginning in 2025.”
Joe resides in Johnston, RI. Outside of his professional life, he remains active with various interests. While managing his career and Job Club service, he pursues two of his passions, ballroom dancing and acting. Additionally, he prioritizes spending time with friends and family, who are very important to him.
